WayLink integrates an array of positioning elements in DHDV to accurately represent the vehicles speed, bearing, location, and other general positioning data sets. This array consists of a heavy duty Distance Measuring Instrument (DMI); a self-contained, differential GPS receiver/ antenna; and a solid-state, multi-axis, inertial sensing Gyroscope. These three components make up the PSA sub-system.

The DMI design includes dual bearings and shaft seals for NEMA 4, 13, and IP65 environmental ratings, a rugged metal housing, and a cable gland. The DMI is mounted on the driver’s side rear wheel’s axis-of-rotation to accurately represent the vehicle’s movement, distance, and speed.

The differential GPS receiver accepts RTCM-104 DGPS correction, suitable for some of the most extreme conditions. The receiver is mounted on top of the vehicle, and has a refresh rate of 10Hz.

The multi-axis inertial sensing gyroscope is used for measuring linear accelerations and angular rates in instrumentation and control applications. It provides both analog and digital outputs. It contains three orthogonally mounted micro-machined quartz angular rate sensors and three silicon based accelerometers.

User can also select a precision Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) for the most demanding requirements of location referencing.
